What is polyester staple fiber?
Generally speaking, polyester staple fibers can be divided into three categories: large/medium/small chemical fibers;
Large chemical fiber: This is a polyester staple fiber made by melt direct spinning or PET chip spinning. It is characterized by bright color and strong stability of the fabric, and the fabric has relatively few defects.
China Chemical Fiber: The difference between it and the big chemical fiber is that it does not use the process of melt direct spinning, but all PET chips or PET recycle spinning. The price and quality of the Chinese chemical fiber are between the large chemical fiber and the small chemical fiber. Some factories produce these fibers in large quantities in order to maintain fabric quality and save costs.
Small fiber: It only uses the process of PET back spinning, and the price and quality are relatively low, and it is often used to produce textile fabrics or accessories (fillers) that do not require high quality.
As mentioned above, PET chip spinning is mentioned above. The short fibers made by this process are generally free of defects, and the fiber thickness is relatively uniform, the fabric feels smooth and soft, and the strength is also very good. The small chemical fiber of polyester short yarn is not produced in this way, so its various physical indicators are not only medium chemical fiber and large chemical fiber.
What is the difference between polyester staple fiber and polyester filament?
1. The first difference between the length of polyester staple fiber is that the length is different. The length of the staple fiber is generally within 10 centimeters, while the filament starts at one thousand meters.
2. Then there are differences in the characteristics between them. Short fibers are generally blended with natural fibers such as cotton and hemp.
3. There are also differences in classification. Polyester staple fibers mainly include wool and cotton, while filaments can be divided into three categories (POY, FDY, DTY).
4. Polyester filament is usually continuous and staple fiber is made by cutting the filament.
